Automatic Identification System (AIS)

Automatic Identification System is a ship-to-ship and ship-to-shore VHF service. Providing real-time vessel location and supplementary information, AIS improves both navigational safety and Search and Rescue response times.

Kordia provides the only National Automatic Identification System in New Zealand. It can provide access to this information for approved users to suit a variety of requirements.

The value of an AIS system has already been realised by a number of government and commercial entities. With Class B units readily available, AIS is now easily affordable by all boaties.
