About Kordia’s Automatic Identification System
Providing coverage of New Zealand’s coastal waters, harbours and ports, Kordia’s Automatic Identification System is operated from the Maritime Operations Centre in Avalon.
We’ve opened the doors to this national network, giving approved customers access to key maritime data.
This is a high-quality service supported by incremental improvements over time. You’ll receive national coverage and functionality without significant capital investment.
Vessel traffic and search capabilities
The Automatic Identification System enables data to be displayed and monitored on your existing vessel management systems—or via a standard Google Earth application through the Earth VTS service.
You’ll be able to monitor and manage:
- Vessel traffic and location
- Vessel collision avoidance
- Maritime search and rescue
- Marine fishing management
- Port security, protection zones and interdiction
Easy, cost-effective AIS access
If you’ve got internet access, you’ve got access to Kordia’s Automated Identification System. It’s as simple as that. Using your existing internet connection, you won’t have to pay for the cost of an additional leased line.
With Kordia AIS, you will:
- Pay only for the services you need
- Have no ongoing terminal transmitting costs
- Save on additional leased line costs by utilising your existing Internet connection
- Manage costs by choosing the degree of coverage received
Access to vessel information is strictly controlled. You will be provided with a unique user ID and password to access the system.
